Clutter You may have lost the energy to clear your clutter. This is not surprising, since clutter energetically drags everything and everyone down. Some of us keep papers and extra stuff around us -- just in case -- because we actually want to suppress our energy. We say we want to sell and move and change, but we may also be anxious about leaving our cluttered, cozy nest. Sometimes, all we need is someone else to come in and break the circle of anxiety/clutter/confusion/depression just by turning on a loud vacuum cleaner and making rattling noises in the kitchen. In Feng Shui, this is called raising the ‘chi’ or life energy in a space.
Abundance One of the stations of the 9-point Feng Shui compass, called the ‘bagua,’ is known as ‘wealth & prosperity.’ After your house is staged and/or cleaned, Sunshine can find the corner of your house where simple Feng Shui remedies such as plants, light, or strong color may enhance the ‘chi’ and attract buyers. We point out other areas of interest, such as the “relationship corner” and the “helpful friends” corner, where extra attention can also be beneficial to your selling effort. One caveat: without de-cluttering, no shrine to prosperity is going to work. Magic needs space to maneuver!
Room by Room Many Feng Shui remedies just make common sense and staging sense. We can go room by room, if you like, and suggest ways to raise the energy level in each space. For example, you may want to strengthen the lighting, balance the yin-to-yang ratio in a room, or think about changing or adding artwork with symbolic power in a certain key setting. Feng Shui is only mysterious to those who are unfamiliar with its practicality. Staging is, in actuality, just practical Feng Shui.
